Early Marriage Figures Rise During Pandemic KOMPAS.com - The number of early marriages in Indonesia surged during the Covid-19 pandemic. West Java is one of the provinces contributing the highest number of underage marriages in Indonesia based on data from the National Planning and Development Agency in 2020. A lecturer at the Department of Civil Law, Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University, Susilowati Suparto, said that the increase in the number of early marriages during the Covid-19 pandemic during one of them was suspected due to economic problems.
